Croupe is the first of several large-scale reproductions of smaller sketches completed in 2012. The power of a simple neon light sculpture unfolds when the apparent abstraction gives way to its actual representation.
Three adjacent hand-drawn lines diverge into broad curves and tight depressions forming the outline of a human derriere. A luminous butt, a glowing pair of buttocks, shining in the distance like signage for a sex shop, attracting insects and the gazes of titillated onlookers.
